My Huge Insight That Made Overcoming Binge Eating Easier

It didn’t occur to me for the longest time that I had an issue with binge eating or a food addiction…I assumed I was “weak” or had “no control” around certain foods and spent years trying various diets.

As I became increasingly shameful about my body and eating habits, I knew I had to do something about it. As you know from my past emails, I began researching how our brains work, the psychology of habits and motivation. I soon had breakthroughs that led me to gaining leverage on myself.

The more I studied, the more I realized that, along with a “bad habit” that I’d programmed myself with, the types of foods I was overeating were also creating an addictive response in my brain.

The combination of learning about my brain with learning about food led to a revolution in my eating, and actually made it much easier to completely transform my relationship with food.

In this video (it’s about 9 minutes), I explain why learning about the food itself helped a lot. As I understood my “animal brain” and it’s urges, I also replaced the types of foods was eating. This made it much easier to reduce cravings.
